KPT, Port Qasim handles 99 087 153 744 tons of cargo

KPT, Port Qasim handles 99 087 153 744 tons of cargo

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) handled a cargo volume of 153,744 tons, including 110,925 tons of imports and 42,819 tons of exports during the last 24 hours, a statement said. Six ships, carrying containers and tankers, were allotted berths at the port.

Another four ships, carrying containers and tankers, sailed during the period.

A total of five ships, comprising Bunga Delima, Glory Sun, Atlantic Blue
Bao Sun and New Legend were expected to sail, while eight ships,
carrying containers of oil, carbon black, steel coils and general cargo,
were due to arrive at the port within the next 24 hours, the statement
added.

Meanwhile, Port Qasim handled a cargo volume of 99,087 tons, including
84,985 tons of imports and 14,102 tons of exports during the last 24
hours, a statement said on Friday.

Berth occupancy was measured at 91 percent at the port, where a total of
11 ships were occupying berths to load and offload containers of
cement, sugar, palm oil, phosphoric acid, furnace oil and iron ore.

The port witnessed brisk shipping activity, where five ships, carrying
containers of chemicals and furnace oil, were allotted berths at the
Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO
Oil Terminal, respectively. Another ship, carrying containers, also
arrived at the outer anchorage of the port.
