Daewoo Shipbuilding and unions to reach agreement

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co has announced that DSME and its labor union recently reached a tentative agreement in the year’s collective and wages negotiations without the need to resort to strikes

According to the company, DSME has successfully reached an understanding
with the labor union without conflicts for 20 consecutive years.

Mr Sang Tae Nam president & CEO of DSME said that “The world
shipbuilding industry is experiencing hard times, which requires unions
and management to come together to improve productivity and
competitiveness. In close cooperation with the union, we will work as
one to improve the labor management culture.”
